Week Beginning October 26th
All grades are being entered this week pertaining to first quarter. Please be patient as I am catching up and still recovering from being ill the past few weeks. No more work will be accepted unless you have special permission from myself or Mrs. Zynda. See me with any questions.
October 8th - Period Guide
You have a substitute teacher today; make sure you are respresenting CTC in a positive way! Below you will find exactly what I want you to be working on while I am gone. Make sure to follow the instructions closely; there are no excuses for having no work completed. If you have any questions, ask the teacher for help. If you see someone in the class without a computer, be a friend and print these instructions and the work for them. :) Have a great day! Hopefully I will see you tomorrow! :)
7th and 8th period: Mrs Zynda will walk you through a Type One writing with whatever prompt you have chosen for the Camden 28 extended response question. Remember that you can choose one of the three questions (under Class Files, Camden 28 Extended Response). Also, remind Mrs. Zynda that Type One writing is timed. :) After completing your Type One writing, begin writing your extended response; if you finish submit it on the class website. It is due tomorrow. You will have some class time to finish, depending on what Mrs. Zynda deems appropriate. Remember that there is a website under CLASS LINKS titled CAMDEN 28 to help you with your extended response. If you get done early you are expected to work on other school work or read school appropriate sites quietly.
9th period: Go to Class Files and click on DLA10.8.09; make sure you go to CLASS FILES. Complete that activity and submit on the class webite. If you have any problems, e mail the assignment or e mail me so that I know you did the assignment but had a problem. Afterwards go to Class Files and click on CAMDEN 28 EXTENDED RESPONSE. Remember that we talked about this assignment yesterday. Pick one of the three prompts to respond to in a well thought out paragraph. Make sure to meet the sentence expectation. Remember that there is a website under CLASS LINKS titled CAMDEN 28 to help you with your extended response. If you get done early you are expected to work on other school work or read school appropriate sites quietly; NO GAMES!!!
English Supplies
The following is a list of basic supplies you will need for this course.
1. Writing Utensils (Pens or Pencils are acceptable)
2. Folder or Binder (Either are acceptabe)
3. Notebook or Loose paper (Either are acceptable)
4. Flash Drive/USB Drive (Optional but HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - no amount of memory is specified. This device is used to back up, transport, etc. files for class projects and assignments. It is quite possible to attain the grade of 'A' without this device, but it does make things easier for students.)
BACK TO SCHOOL
Welcome to the Springfield Clark CTC! I am looking forward to meeting you; we have a busy and exciting year ahead of us. We will start off the first week of school getting to know each other as well as the skills you are bringing from your associate school. Please let me know in advance if you have any medical needs, etc that I need to be aware of so that you can succeed in my classroom environment. Please feel free to stop by my room during the Open House or Three Day Orientation to make me aware of these issues or to simply introduce yourself.
